Brick Workouts: The Challenge That Reignited My Training Passion

Brick Workouts: The Challenge That Reignited My Training Passion

When I first heard about brick workouts, I was instantly intrigued. I’ve always been someone who needs to move, and with my background as a competitive skier, I felt like something was missing in my training. The idea of jumping from a bike ride straight into a run without resting… it sounded crazy. But it was a challenge. And I love a challenge. It was exactly what I needed to reignite my fire and passion for training.

So I gave it a shot.

And honestly? It was harder than I expected.

My legs were confused — like they hadn’t figured out we’d switched from cycling to running. My breathing was off, my rhythm was all over the place… but it was in those exact moments that I began to feel like a true triathlete. Not just because I was doing two sports back-to-back, but because I was pushing past my limits. I was discovering a stronger, more resilient version of myself.

Now, brick workouts are part of my weekly routine. It’s never “easy,” but it’s always worth it. It prepares me for race day, but more importantly, it trains me to trust myself.

So if you’re wondering what the secret is to progress in triathlon — or just feel like a badass during your workouts — try a brick session. you don't need to go for a 10k run after your bike session, the important things is simply to move your legs. Wether you run for 2k or 12k, you just want to give that feeling to your legs and show them that they can push through the pain and the heaviness.

Your legs might be on fire by the end… but so will your smile.
